28 Days on the Pill: Entire Documentary Now Available Here
Tuesday, 01 June 2010 08:35

ARPA Note: 28 Days on the Pill is filmed and produced by TNL Productions, an independent Canadian producer. The film does a good job of discussing a topic that few Christians dare talk about: does the birth control pill cause abortions? Although the answer is still debated by many in the Reformed community, many more aren't even aware that there is an issue. Please consider watching this with some friends to encourage biblical worldview thinking on sexuality.

Defying Common Sense: The Criminal Code and the Being-Born, Newly-Born and Unborn Child
Monday, 31 May 2010 08:48

By André Schutten (From EFC's Activate CFPL): In conversation with a friend, the topic of the legality of abortion came up. Although my friend has been a licensed practicing nurse for a few years, he was shocked to find out that in Canada an abortion can be legally procured throughout all three trimesters, up until the moment of birth. It took a few minutes to convince him that I was deadly serious (pardon the pun). I think my friend’s ignorance of the reality that is Canada’s refusal to protect its unborn citizens is indicative of the vast majority of Canadians’ understanding on this point. Perhaps, that “misunderstanding of Canadians” has something to do with our elected leaders’ refusal to “re-open the abortion debate.” [Keep reading this article here.]

Harper to 'recommend' defeat of Tory MP’s abortion bill
Thursday, 20 May 2010 15:04

ARPA Note: MP's still have the freedom to vote in support of this bill. Please take the time to encourage your MP to do so in the days and months to come.

National Post, May 20, 2010: OTTAWA - Prime Minister Stephen Harper will vote against a private member's bill promoted by one of his own MPs that would add new Criminal Code penalties for those who coerce women to have an abortion. A senior government official also says that while the prime minister will not "whip" or demand Conservative MPs vote as he votes, it will be "very strongly recommended" that Conservatives vote to defeat the bill. ARPA and Armageddon
Wednesday, 19 May 2010 08:15

Marci McDonald's recently-launched book "The Armageddon Factor: The Rise of Christian Nationalism in Canada" has been making headlines across the country. In this 400+ page book, McDonald attempts to make the case that the "Christian Right" in Canada is large, organized, has direct ties to Harper, and is something that all Canadians should fear. Alongside the many factual errors, one of its key weaknesses is they way that the author paints all conservatives with the same brush, lumping ARPA in with most other religious organizations that dare speak up in the public square and suggesting with the title that we all share a common view of the end times which motivates us to political action.
